The Western Trust’s Therapy Radiographers, based at Altnagelvin Hospital’s new Radiotherapy Centre, received training on the software used to run the Varian Truebeam Linear Accelerators.  These multi-million pound machines demonstrate some of the latest technology currently available in the treatment of cancer.  Altnagelvin has three treatment machines,  which will deliver radiotherapy to approximately 1500 cancer patients per year from both North and South of the border.  The Therapy Radiographers spent the week familiarising themselves with the machines and its various their functions and capabilities.  They also gained a greater insight into the IT system which is used to support them.  View the video above to learn more.
