Staff achieve NVQ Success

Over two hundred Western Trust staff are celebrating their academic achievements recently, after receiving awards in Health and Social Care studies.

The Western Trust’s Management and Organisation Development Team along with the NVQ Assessment Centre recently held an awards ceremony to recognise staff who had successfully completed an NVQ, management development course or Life Long Learning qualification in 2010. The ceremony was at the Red Cross Building, Stradreagh, Gransha Park and was sponsored by the Trade Union, Unison.

A special award for commitment to NVQ was presented in memory of Joan Ross, Social Services Training for the fifth year running. There were five nominations and the successful nominee was Linda Johnston, Day Care Worker at Lisnamallard Industries, Omagh.

Nuala Sheerin, Western Trust Director of Human Resources in launching the Learning, Education and Development Strategy said: “The dedication and commitment of all those involved in studying for these awards is inspiring.   This is a very positive event that gives us the opportunity to celebrate the achievement of staff and the improvement of services to patients and clients.”
