TCH Staff Celebrate Good News


TCH Staff Celebrate Good News Chairman and Chief Executive of Western Trust joined staff at the Tyrone County Hospital this week to celebrate the good news that the construction can start on the Enhanced Local Hospital, Omagh.  The announcement was made by Health Minister Michael McGimpsey at the NI Assembly on 23 March 2011.

Western Trust Chairman, Gerard Guckian, said: “The announcement this week has created a very positive atmosphere among staff and patients.  We are delighted today to see first-hand the spirits of staff lifted so much by this great news.  This is a very joyous day for everyone associated with health and social care in Omagh and the surrounding area but staff in particular have waited so long for such an announcement, they are naturally elated.  The Western Trust looks forward to the completion of the Enhanced Local Hospital so that the top quality care which is currently provided at the Tyrone County can be continued in a modern state-of-the-art hospital which is fit for the 21st Century.”

Western Trust Chief Executive, Elaine Way, commenting during the visit to the Tyrone County Hospital, said: “The excitement amongst staff from each and every area within the hospital was palpable.  It was great to join with them to celebrate this very significant milestone and want to pay tribute to all of the Tyrone County Hospital staff for their tremendous continued commitment to providing high quality care for the people of Omagh and the surrounding areas.”
