Industrial Action on Wednesday 30 November

The Western Health and Social Care Trust (Western Trust) and Trade Union Side organisations recognise the need for safe service provision during the industrial action planned for Wednesday 30 November 2011.

There will be inevitable and unavoidable disruption to services during the industrial action. The Trust has agreed a protocol with the majority of Trade Unions that will ensure emergency cover in vital service areas. Clinically critical outpatients and planned activity and essential supporting infrastructure will also be provided on the day.

Significant disruption to hospital services including Out-patient clinics is anticipated.  Mental Health Services at Gransha and on the Tyrone and Fermanagh Hospital site will be maintained.  Daycare centres are likely to be affected, mainly due to transport disruption.  The Trust has made contact with those patients and clients that will be affected by the action.

It has been agreed that services will continue in residential and children's homes and critical needs of those receiving services in the community will also be met.

The Trust is working to manage any potential disruption and asks for the public's patience and co-operation.  We regret any inconvenience that the industrial action may cause.
