Special Service to remember Babies and Children

The Western Trust’s annual Remembrance Service in memory of babies who have died following a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal and infant deaths will be held this year on Sunday 13 May 2012 at 3pm and will take place at the MDEC Building in the large lecture theatre at Altnagelvin Area Hospital.
This is the nineteenth year that the Trust has held a service as a tribute to those who have died and to their parents, families and friends at Altnagelvin Hospital. It is inter-denominational and, as in previous years, it will feature music from Trench Road Folk Group and Michael McGurk.
Speaking in advance of the service Head of Acute and Community Paediatrics, Mary McKenna said: “The remembrance service provides an opportunity for parents and families to talk to others who have experienced the loss of a baby and to meet again some of the hospital staff who may have shared in that experience.
“The service has always been well attended in the past by parents, families and friends from throughout the Western area, as well as by hospital staff. Everyone will be made most welcome.”
