Supporting Daily Mile Challenge in Schools

Supporting Daily Mile Challenge in SchoolsWestern Trust Chief Executive Dr Anne Kilgallen was delighted to join pupils from Model Primary School, Enniskillen and Gaelscoil Eadain Mhoir recently on their Daily Mile Challenge to encourage physical activity every day!

The Daily Mile Challenge is a joint project initiated by the Neighbourhood Health Improvement Project and the Western Trust’s Health Improvement, Equality and Involvement Department.

Commenting on the Daily Mile Challenge Dr Anne Kilgallen said: It is very important that we encourage our children and young people to keep active to improve their health and wellbeing.  From speaking with the teachers involved, I am delighted to hear that they have seen a marked improvement in not only the children’s fitness, but also their concentration levels, mood, behaviour and general wellbeing.”
