What to bring

Here is a list of things to bring with you if you are being admitted to Altnagelvin:

The letter from the hospital confirming your admission date.

Your medical card and any information leaflets you were given at the pre-assessment clinic or outpatient clinic.

Pyjamas or nightdress and slippers. If you have one, bring a dressing gown too.

A comb or hairbrush, two facecloths, a denture cup if you need one, towel, soap, deodorant, tissues, toothbrush and toothpaste. Men should also bring their shaving kits.
Any medicines or tablets you are on. Please bring them in their own boxes or bottles.

Writing paper, envelopes, stamps, books, magazines.

A small amount of change for the payphone or to buy items from the hospital shop.

You will have a bedside locker but please do not bring much money or expensive jewellery. We cannot accept responsibility for your valuables. If you have to bring valuable personal items with you, we can put them in storage for you. If you give us cash to keep for you, we will bank it and give you back a cheque – remember that this will take up to 3 working days to clear.
