Three main meals for patients are served every day – breakfast at around 8am, lunch at around 12.15pm and evening tea at around 5.15pm. So that patients get time to eat their meals while they are hot, we do not carry out any tests or examinations and visitors are not allowed on the wards during main meal times. Tea or coffee is served mid-morning, mid-afternoon and late evening. Patients choose their lunch and evening tea from menus provided by nursing staff the day before.

Relatives and other visitors may use the snack bar on the ground floor, or the staff restaurant on the first floor. They should avoid peak times – between 12.30pm and 1.15pm – when staff, who have limited time for lunch, are eating.
