Altnagelvin was the first hospital in Northern Ireland to introduce a Patients’ Advocate service. The Patients’ Advocate helps patients or relatives if they have any concerns about the care and treatment provided or if they want to make suggestions. The Patients’ Advocate will come and see patients or their relatives while the patient is still in hospital, or can be contacted at a later date (see ‘Contact us’). |
