The hospital employs chaplains of the main religions in Northern Ireland to visit and minister to patients in hospital. Ministers and priests from surrounding parishes also visit the wards regularly. Patients are asked when they arrive if they would like a visit from their chaplain or member of their clergy. The hospital chaplains have put together a leaflet called ‘Prayers while you are in hospital’, which is available on the wards.
The hospital has a ‘Room of Prayer and Reflection’ on the first floor and patients and relatives are welcome to use it at any time, day or night. It is available for people of all religions and none. Mass is said in the room on Sunday mornings.
