Single rooms
Sometimes we have single rooms available, at a cost per night. They cannot be guaranteed because we may need them for very ill patients or for other clinical reasons. If you would like to know more about booking a single room, phone the Paying Patients Officer on 028 7134 5171, extension 3596.

TV and radio
Televisions are provided on most wards and patients can bring in a radio to listen to their favourite programmes. We hope that the hospital radio station ‘Radio Altnagelvin’, which stopped broadcasting because of building work, will broadcast again in the future.

Shopping in Altnagelvin
You can buy daily newspapers and other items from the ‘mobile shop’, which visits most wards every day. There is also a flower shop, a newsagent and a snack bar in the front hall of the hospital.

Opening times are:

Flower shop: 9.30am – 8.30pm, Monday to Friday
10am – 8pm, Saturday
12.30pm – 8pm, Sunday

Newsagent 8.30am to 9pm, Monday to Saturday
8.45am to 9pm, Sunday

Snack bar 9am to 9pm, Monday to Saturday

10am to 9pm Sunday

You’ll find a First Trust cash dispenser (ATM) on the ground floor beside the flower shop.
