Wards within Lakeview Hospital Melvin Lodge Provides admission to hospital for adults who require assessment and treatment for changes to their behaviour pattern affecting individual health and wellbeing. Provides admission to hospital for adults with a learning disability who are physically frail and require intensive support, assessment and treatment.
STRULE GARDENS Brook Lodge Provides admission for adults with a learning disability who require assessment and treatment for changes affecting individual mental health and wellbeing. Provides admission to hospital for children who need assessment and treatment for changes to their behaviour pattern affecting individual health and well-being. Provide ongoing assessment and therapeutic intervention for adults and children who need personal/social/education development programmes specialist facilities and intervention for: • people with profound/multiple disabilities • people with sensory impairment • behaviour management development programmes
BERRYBURN LODGE Mourne House Mourne House remains on the old Stradreagh site whilst we await an outcome to planning difficulties in relation to its replacement facility. The Country Kitchen Coffee Shop, which is still located in the old Stradreagh Site, is staffed by people with a learning disability and is open from 9.00 am to 11.00 am. Two Consultant Psychiatrists and one Associate Specialist provide medical cover to both hospital and community offering a service to children and adults with a learning disability throughout the Western Health & Social Care Trust geographical area. Consultant Out-Patient Clinics are held in the Londonderry, Limavady, Strabane, Omagh and Fermanagh areas. The Clinical Psychology Department for the Learning Disability Programme is based at Lakeview and offers a service to children and adults with a learning disability throughout the Western Health & Social Care Trust geographical area. The service is available to clients in both hospital and community. The Behaviour Support Team provide specialist behavioural advice and assistance to patients whose behaviour presents significant challenges. The service will use the least restrictive approaches deemed appropriate to enable them to maintain their community placement and to lead as normal a life as possible. Specialist Support Services are provided by a group of trained and experienced professionals in the following areas:- • Physiotherapy • Podiatry • Occupational Therapy • Speech and Language Therapy • Dietetics |
